First off let me say how happy we are that your son or daughter may be interested in becoming a student and involved in the Warren ISD band program.  The Warren ISD band has a proud tradition of excellence into which your child could be a part of.

Music is a part of all of our lives in one form or another.  We listen to music on our car radios, we hear it on our TV's, at the movies, and in a variety of other places and settings.  As a music student, your child is entering a time of their life which can be a very rewarding and gratifying experience for them for the next several years.  Band provides students many opportunities and rewards, just a few of which include a ready made group of friends all working towards the same goal, the opportunity to travel, be exposed through music to other cultures, learn team work, and participate in an activity that combines mental, physical and artistic elements, as well as numerous scholarship opportunities.  Repeated studies have shown that children who are involved with music consistently score higher on tests in other academic areas, especially in the areas of math and science.

The beginning band is primarily composed of 6th grade students, but is in fact open to any student enrolled in grades 6-8 who is interested in learning to play an instrument and become a member of the band program.
