This first year of beginning band requires very little outside of class time.  This first year is devoted to teaching your child to read music and basic playing skills on the instrument they have chosen.

We require 30 minutes of practice at home (homework) five days a week, and there are two planned performances in which the beginning band will participate, which are the annual Christmas Concert and the annual Spring Concert. 

If your child remains in the band program (which it is hoped they will) then as they move into the Junior High and High School bands, more outside of class activities and performances will take place.
