Attached is a video regarding our application for Cohort E Teacher Incentive Allotment in WISD. It is required that EVERY teacher in WISD know about Teacher Incentive Allotment, so please watch this short video as they will survey us in April. National Board Certification can earn you up to $5500 per year additional monies for five years.(Amounts vary by campus) In addition, teachers selected for the Local Designation System as recognized, exemplary, and masters can earn up to $26,000 per year for 5 years.(Amounts vary by Campus)
Of course, to actually receive the monies for TIA there are some hefty checkpoints for data validity and reliability with TEA and Texas Tech. This is why our stakeholder committees decided to start with those areas that receive a STAAR Growth measure in year one, while we pilot Renaissance and/or Pre/Post Assessment growth data for year two in our other areas.
KEEP IN MIND: Validity + Reliability = Receivability Meaning if we want our teachers to benefit we have to ensure we are calibrating for T-TESS and tracking student growth the same. If either one is deemed poor we won't see a dime. :( Unfortunately, this has happened to several districts so we have decided to proceed slowly into this new adventure for WISD.
