Initially, Presidents’ Day was established in the late 1800s to celebrate the birthday of our nation's first president, George Washington. Then expanded to include Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, and has now expanded into a way to recognize all presidents in the nation's history.

UIL district realignments for football, basketball, and volleyball were released last week. UIL has stated that the remaining athletic district alignments will be released no later than April 2024, with the academic realignments to follow. WHS Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) was represented well at the Regional Leadership Conference this past weekend! The FCCLA Region 4 Leadership Conference was an opportunity for leadership growth and competition. Students competed in Promote & Publicize FCCLA and Early Childhood Education. WHS has not had an active FCCLA student club in over a decade, so this began the journey of a building year, with lots of knowledge gained!

A transformer south of Warren has caused power outages among the area. The traffic has been rerouted from 69 past the school.
Dismissal will require added patience, with our goal of safety being top priority. Also to note, due to the outage, all school phones and internet are down. Restoration is predicted for 4PM.
With January being School Board Appreciation Month, today we highlight WISD School Board Trustee Billie Read! Mr. Read has served on the Warren ISD School Board of Trustees since 2014. Thank you for your service to our school district and the countless hours you have supported, advised, and served WISD!
