We want to keep you informed about a situation in the Warren community. A Secure (Lockout) was initiated this morning as a precaution due to a reported threat involving a suspect who fled from deputies over the weekend and has not yet been apprehended. On August 25, 2025, Chief Hoke was on scene assisting other agencies in the search and Chief Hoke remains in ongoing communication with local law enforcement. The Secure has since been lifted, as the suspect is not in close proximity to the school. Please know that Warren ISD consistently practices secure campus protocols, including locked doors, perimeter checks, and other safety measures. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

We are incredibly excited to share that Warren ISD achieved 100% COMPLIANCE during the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Cyclical Monitoring Audit — a rigorous, multi-phase review designed to ensure districts are meeting all federal and state requirements for students receiving special education services. This accomplishment is difficult, requiring a flawless review of procedures, documentation, and services related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Texas state law. The cyclical audit process spans six years across all Texas Local Education Agencies — and passing with zero findings is no small feat.

🎶🥁 The Warren Band Percussion section wrapped up an incredible 3-day clinic in preparation for the upcoming marching season!
Our students had the honor of working with the renowned Mr. Lamar Burkhalter—a Yamaha Performing Artist, Director of the NFL Houston Texans’ “Deep Steel Thunder” drumline, Percussion Faculty at Lone Star College–University Park, Founder/Director of N8RHYTHM, and Principal Snare Drummer for the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra.
Over the course of the clinic, students received expert instruction on playing fundamentals, learned new cadences, and dove into the music for this year’s marching show. Their hard work and focus set the tone for what’s sure to be a fantastic season!
Next up: full summer band rehearsals begin as we march full speed ahead toward fall!

Congratulations to FES Educator Savannah Hudson for receiving a scholarship from Texas Farm Bureau to attend the National Ag in the Classroom Conference! While there, she explored an orchard, a hydroponic crate farming operation, and a local farmers market - bringing back real-world insights to share with the students and staff of Warren ISD.
Savannah also attended inspiring workshops, formed lasting professional connections, and discovered even more opportunities that Texas Farm Bureau provides for educators. 🌿✏️

Superintendent Rusty Minyard, CFO Terry Ling, and Instructional Technologist & Grant Coordinator Lindsey Thompson represented our district at the Texas Workforce Commission event on June 12 at the Shahan Events Center, joining leaders from Lamar State College and fellow grant recipients. Mr. Minyard spoke on behalf of Warren ISD, while Commissioner Alberto Treviño III emphasized the vital role of funding Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs to strengthen our future workforce.
We’re incredibly thankful for this investment in our agricultural mechanics program and students! 💼📚🔧
